It is probably true to say that every boat in every marina is for sale ‘at the right price’. It is also probably true to say that many boats are for sale either because, the owners do not use them enough or they want to release cash from what is effectively an idle asset. 

Well we are delighted to inform you that we have a solution. 

By participating in our syndication programme, Magellan Lloyd will: 

• Agree to purchase your boat ‘at current market price’ 
• Create a fractional programme for up to ten syndicate members 
• Allow you to retain part ownership 'as little as 10%' 
• Reduce your annual outgoings 'by up to 90%' 
• Transfer an idle asset into cash 
• Take away the daily burdens associated with operating a boat 

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

Let us say that your boat is currently for sale at £400,000. Through our syndicate scheme we would offer for sale, ten shares at £40,000 per share. In return, each syndicate member would receive 4 weeks usage of the boat for a fixed period of 5 years. 

Note: please refer to the section ‘How Does It Work’ for a full detailed explanation of our fractional scheme and what happens at the end of five years. You as the original owner would be expected to subscribe for a minimum of one share, whilst the remaining shares would be actively marketed through our network of affiliate partners. Once the take-up of shares is complete, Magellan Lloyd would then purchase the boat from you for the agreed price less the cost of your share(s). 

Example: 

• Price of boat £400,000 
• Cost of each share (assuming 10 shares) £40,000 
• Assume you retain one share 
• Magellan Lloyd would acquire the boat from you for £360,000. (Less a commission fee of 10% which includes any contracted brokerage fee). The boat would then enter our fractional programme as detailed in ‘How Does It Work’. 

Criteria: 

• Minimum boat length 15 Metres, with no upper limit. 
• Maximum age, 4 years (from date of registration) 
• Minimum value £200,000 
• No insurance claim history 
• Full service history 
• Complete log history 
• VAT paid
